In this work, a figure entrusts a golden heart, the emblem of purity and sincerity to another. The arrows that pierce it evoke the wounds of infidelity, betrayal, and abandonment. Temptation hovers at the edges of the scene; relationships appear fleeting, accelerated, and often devoid of true commitment.
Wagenaar evokes a generation hesitant to surrender to genuine love, yet relentlessly yearning for it. It is within this fraught tension between desire and vulnerability that Love of the Broken Generation reveals its essence.
